About Asterix

The MV Asterix is Canada's first military supply ship  in nearly 50 years and the largest naval ship built in Canada. Leased to the Royal Canadian Navy, Asterix is jointly crewed by military personnel and civilian employees. This successful Public Private Partnership was delivered on time and on budget.
Asterix is a mission-ready ship and crew able to perform complex operations round-the-clock, 365 days a year. Formally welcomed into the fleet in March 2018, the ship began operating in the Atlantic and the Caribbean before transiting the Panama Canal for exercises and operations in the Pacific Ocean.
Asterix is crewed by some of the finest sailors in the international commercial marine industry and the Navy. This blog is a look into their lives.
